SECTION I: CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS
The following items will be adopted on a single motion without discussion unless a councilmember requests separate consideration.
1. City council meeting minutes-
a. Regular Meeting – August 10, 2010.
2. Correspondence
a. Letter from Mayor Majewski reappointing Ms. Renee Savage to the Hamtramck Library Board.
3. RESOLUTION GRANTING PERMISSION TO THE DURGA TEMPLE TO HOLD A PARADE ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2010 AT 6:00 PM. Placed on the agenda by Councilmember Miah.
4. RESOLUTION GRANTING A PAWNBROKER LICENSE TO GUS SHAMOONAT 2024 CANIFF (METRO PAWN SHOP). The resolution allows one surety in the amount of $3,000 from a surety firm or insurance company licensed to do business in the state of Michigan. Placed on the agenda by City Clerk Norris.
SECTION II: NEW BUSINESS – Ordinance introductions and resolutions for initial consideration.
1. FUND WARRANT LIST AND PAYROLL.
2. RESOLUTION GIVING PERMISSION TO THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT TO OFFER RETIREES, ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS, AN OPTION TO RECEIVE CASH PAYMENTS IN LIEU OF INSURANCE COVERAGE CURRENTLY PROVIDED BY THE CITY. Placed o the agenda by Finance Director Nazarko.
3. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH THE CLEAN ENERGY COALITION FOR AN ENERGY STUDY AND ENERGY SAVING BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. Placed on the agenda by DPW Director Ladd.
4. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF HAMTRAMCK, MICHIGAN AND BOULEVARD & TRUMBULL TOWING, INC. The contract provides for towing and storage services when called by the police department for damaged or abandoned vehicles. Placed on the agenda by City Manager Cooper.
5. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HAMTRAMCK AMENDING THE HAMTRAMCK ZONING ORDINANCE BY ADDING SECTION 13 TO ARTICLE IX, GENERAL PROVISION, TO PROVIDE FOR MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES, THEIR LOCATION, DEFINITIONS, CONDITIONS AND STANDARDS, TO PROVIDE FOR REPEALER, AND EFFECTIVE DATE. This is the first reading of an ordinance amending the Hamtramck Zoning Ordinance. Placed on the agenda by Councilmember Jankowski.
