Your support is greatly appreciated!
May need to check it out this week. That would make two dinners I didn’t need to cook!
I am positive we will be there. The chef at the KofC is supreme.
The first time we went to this fish fry, the pierogi were served with salt instead of sour cream. I rather liked them that way, and now eat them with just salt all the time, even when it isn’t Lent.
That makes sense. Sour cream on potato-cheese pierogi takes it to a new depth of heaviness. Sour cream on kraut or mushroom isn’t nearly as weighty. I still prefer ketchup to sour cream on potato pancakes (heresy). Some people prefer applesauce on them. Still others prefer a margarine spread, which I suppose would be like lard and salt.
They’re all ready fried in lard, so it would be lard, with lard and salt lol
Even during Lent? My personal policy on lard is “don’t ask, don’t tell”.
Is this going on this year?

I don’t think this is going on this year. Is it? I talked to 2 K Of C members, and the priest and they all said no. I went to everyone last year, it was excellent.
The K0fC is finding out that if you kick out the people who organize your events, you don’t have events anymore.
The only fish fry I know of in Hamtramck this year is at the Moose Lodge on Conant.
No KofC fish fry this year either, looks like (from driving by). Did they really kick out guys who were organizing this? It used to be great!
It sure was.
The two fish fries this year are at the Moose Lodge on Conant and at PLAV Post 10 on Joseph Campau.
Thanks, Hillary!
Although I was hoping you would dish on the kicked out guys, too… heh
