Paczki Day Happenings

Saturday, February 25, is the kick-off party, Countdown to Paczki Day: From 11am to 3pm at Towne Center Plaza, in a heated tent at the corner of Holbrook and Joseph Campau. Polish Dancers and music by Misty Blues polka band. Featuring food from New Palace, New Martha Washington, Polish market, Bozek’s, Srodek’s Stan’s, New Deluxe, and Detroit Donut, including plenty of free paczki (some cut in pieces). No charge for admission.
Fat Tuesday, February 28
New Dodge Lounge, 8850 Joseph Campau: 7th Annual Paczkipalooza. Doors open at 7am, no cover. Doug Podell from WRIF will be broadcasting live 10am-3pm. Live entertainment including Polish Muslims, Misty Blues (polka), Joe Town, and Various artists (80’s). Authentic Polish food by chef Lew and his Brother-in-Law Frank: kielbasa, golombki, pierogi, kapusta. Drink specials all day. The Hamtramck Fire Department bill be selling t-shirts, mugs, and jello shots. A portion of the proceeds to benefit “Safe House”.
Knights of Columbus Hall, 9632 Conant: Doors open for breakfast at 7am. The 6th Annual Paczki Eating Contest will begin at noon.
Whiskey in the Jar, 2741 Yemans: Live entertainment in a large heated tent 10am to close. Joe Thomas from 106.7 FM The Drive will be broadcasting from the tent between 2pm and 7pm. The Polish Muslims will be playing at 2:30pm, followed by Hamtramck’s own Bad Faces Clan from 6pm to 8pm.
Tight Fittin’ Jeans, 12002 Joseph Campau: Holly’s Famous Golabki dinner, $4 per dinner. Live music by Copperhead begining at 8pm. Serving original New Orleans Mardi Gras Hurricane cocktails. No cover.
Suzy’s, 2942 Evaline: “Polish Girls Gone Wild” at Suzy’s Mardi Gras Party. Danny D’s “Rod Stewart Tribute” at 5pm. DJ and Karaoke following.
